Welcome

Welcome to Colorado Flight Training, the website of Simon Roberts, CFII. I am a part-time flight instructor teaching primarily at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan (formerly Jeffco) airport. I'm also available to fly with you in your airplane at any airport in this area.

Although part time, I take the role very seriously. In my day job, I teach computing to adults, so I have extensive experience of the teaching process, and I bring a high level of professionalism in teaching to my flight instruction activities. Also, I'm in flight instruction because I love teaching and sharing the joy of flying; I'm not looking for an airline job, so you can rely on my being here for your next rating, currency ride, or just general advice.

I work hard to keep my own flying skills as sharp as possible, and in my spare time, I am currently working toward my CFI-G, that is, my glider instructor rating.

I teach at Western Air Flight Academy, located at Jeffco airport, and am available to teach in your own single engine aircraft in the Denver metro region. I'm also a member of the Soaring Society of Boulder where I fly gliders and am a towpilot, and that's where I'm working on my CFI-G.
